16 Days The Best Of Morocco Tour
DAY 1 CASABLANCA AIRPORT TRANSFER
We will pick you up from the airport to the hotel to spend the night. If there is a possibility to go dine in a restaurant, we will go for that option.
DAY 2 CASABLANCA – CHEFCHAOUEN
We will visit the Grand Mosque Hassan II in Casablanca then we will head to Chefchaouen city to pass the night.
DAY 3 CHEFCHAOUEN – AKCHOUR WATERFALLS
After breakfast, we enjoy our morning in Akchour waterfalls. One of the most beautiful waterfalls in Morocco. A peaceful and calm place to recharge and connect with nature.
We take our lunch there then go back to Chefchaouen, the blue city to pass the night. You can benefit from your free time there navigating through its unique streets.
DAY 4 CHEFCHAOUEN – MEKNES – FES
After breakfast we head to Meknes where we will stop by The world heritage site VOLUBILIS. Established before the Christian Era, at a time when the area was part of Mauretania, Volubilis was considered the administrative center of the kingdom of Mauretania and also one of the most remote cities within the Roman Empire, located in the far southwestern region, then we continue to the holly town of Moulay Idriss Zerhoune that give a great into traditional moroccan life and arriving by evening to Fez where you will spend the night in a nice authentic riad.
DAY 5 EXPLORE FES
After breakfast you will have a sightseeing tour where you can Walk through high walled streets, watch the daily procession of mourners entering the tomb of Fez’s founder Moulay Idriss II. the medina of Fez is Founded in the 9th century and home to the oldest university in the world what makes it the spiritual and cultural heart of Morocco. Spend the day exploring the old city, visiting, Mederassa Bou Inania, the tanneries and the splendid Funduk Nejjarine, a beautifully restored 18th century inn. return to your hotel to spend the night and enjoy a delicious moroccan dinner.
DAY 6 FES – MIDELT
After the breakfast we will start our long driving day to Merzouga crossing the Atlas Mountains,on the way we will pass through the clean and the most modern city in the country Ifrane arriving to the trailing edge of the Cedar Forest to – Azrou – a city located on a steep hill through a variety of woods to the famed cedar forests inhabited by endangered Barbary monkeys. We’ll cut through fertile valleys, stands of cedar and pine and landscapes that move from barren to rocky. On the way, we’ll stop in the high plains of Midelt. The city is the commercial hub for the large agricultural hinterland. Originally, Midelt was built as a base for active mining in the area but it has now transformed into a thriving pastoral area surrounded by orchards. We will be passing the night in Midelt.
DAY 7 MIDELT – MERZOUGA DESERT
After Breakfast we will be driving down the curves and join the pre-Saharan zone passing first by Errachidia and Erfoud famous for its interesting fossil quarries in which we’ll feel the beginning of the Saharan oasis of Tafilalet then From a vast plateau you will get impressed by the huge sand dune of Merzouga appearing from the horizon, you will spend the night in the hotel by the desert dunes.
DAY 8 MERZOUGA – ERG CHEBBI
Exploration & Camel Trek for sunset) Throughout the sand dunes we go for a drive on these fabulous landscapes on the edge of the Erg Chebbi, the largest sand dunes in Morocco. We will see plenty of nomadic black tents in the middle of nowhere. We shall stop by a nomadic family to have tea and see what a nomadic life looks like. We go on our drive and let’s discover the nomadic life of Touareg people by visiting Alkhamliya, a village where nothing has been changed through centuries. Either we lunch here in Alkhamliya village or we go back to our hotel and lunch there. After we go on a camel ride to meet one of the most fascinating sight we will ever seen, the superb sunset in the middle of the high sand dunes of Merzouga. Tonight we stay in a luxury desert camp and enjoy a wonderful stars view.
DAY 9 MERZOUGA – TINGHIR
Upon arrival in Tinghir, one is already amazed at the magnificent view of the green, lush gardens and the countless date palms growing in the valley. In Tinghir you have the opportunity to walk through the oasis gardens and take a closer look at the agriculture. Local guides will gladly lead you through the impressive landscape and show you the most beautiful places of the oasis. The small tour goes past the irrigation canals, along the fields and through the palm gardens. This way you can get an idea of the agriculture there and take impressive travel photos at the same time.
DAY 10 TINGHIR – AIT BENHADDOU
After Breakfast we will head to Aït Benhaddou Kasbah, the UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987 via the tizin’tichka pass. We’ll continue exploring the tIzin’tichka road especially its great landscape of Berber’s villages. this Unesco-protected red mudbrick ksar (fortified village) built in the 11th centuryand used to be a strategic stop for caravans of camels, , often numbering hundreds, on the trans-Saharan trade route from the Sudan to Marrakech carrying gold, silver and slaves and returning with salt.
DAY 11 AIT BENHADDOU – IMLIL
After Breakfast, we will head to Imlil in the hight atlas mountains , we will drive along the Ounila valley, crossing the Tizi n Tichka pass,and after driving to Imlil Village where we spend the night.
DAY 12 IMLIL – ESSAOUIRA
After breakfast we drive to Essaouira, we pass by goats on argan trees, and visit an argan oil women cooperative where you learn about how argan oil is extracted by hand. After arriving at Essaouira check in to your hotel and explore the medina and enjoy relaxing time by the atlantic ocean.
DAY 13 ESSAOUIRA – MARRAKECH
After a relaxing time in Essaouira, we drive to the red city of Marrakech, check in to your riad, and enjoy Marrakech by night.
DAY 14 EXPLORE MARRAKECH
Welcome to Marrakech or “the red city ” situated near the foothills of the snow-capped Atlas Mountain, In Marrakech Europe, Africa and the Middle East mingle and merge as t is two parts one is the old town called “medina” where you will visit with your local guide the interesting monuments of the city like the “Koutoubia mosque”,”the bahia palace” and the famous square Jama lfna.The other part is the new modern town “Gueliz” built during the French occupation
DAY 15 OPEN DAY IN MARRAKECH
