DAY 1 : FROM MARRAKECH TO AIT BENHADDOU TO DADES VALLEY
Our trip will start from Marrakech to head next to Aitbenhaddou. The world UNESCO heritage since 1987 that is a ksar (fortified village) that served as a strategic stop for caravans of camels, often numbering hundreds, on the trans-Saharan trade route from Sudan to Marrakech carrying gold, silver, and slaves and returning with salt. Another kasbah awaits us on our way via Tizin’tchka pass. This kasbah located in Telouet village has been there since the 17th century. Afterwards, we will arrive in Dades Valley. If you are a nature lover, get yourself ready to admire the Dades Gorges and Valleys. A Must visit in Dades.
Overnight and dinner in Dades in a charming riad.
DAY 2 : FROM DADES VALLEY TO TODGHA GORGES TO ERG CHEBBI
After breakfast, our journey continues to give Todgha Gorges a visit. Most travelers always refer to Todgha Gorges as Colorado with its high plateau. The rivers of Todgha and Dades have sculpted out precipice- sided defiles on their final 25- afar stretch through the mountains, leaving behind this series of reliefs and etches in the gemstone. The Todra is the name of the last 600 measures( just under,000 bases) of the defiles. We stop for a walk there and then take our lunch to the next stop that will be in Tinghir town. WE head afterwards to Erfoud city where the famous hollywood films “The Mummy” and “Prince of Persia” were filmed. It offers impressive views of the palm grooves and remarkable fossil quarries that will let us sense and feel the beginning of the Saharan Oasis of Tafilalt. And as Merzouga has vast dunes, your breath will be taken away by the stunning view these dunes offer, appearing from the horizon. And finally the time for a camel trek has arrived! We will continue our exploration on a camel ride through the magnificent Erg Chebbi dunes, the largest sand dunes of Morocco, and head afterwards to our camp where we will have our dinner and spend the night.
In the end of the day, a simple look up to experience the star filled Sahara desert sky, makes it worthy of the long trip it took to be there.
DAY 3 : FROM MERZOUGA TO ALNIF TO OUARZAZATE
In the morning it is recommended to wake up early to climb the dunes and watch the most magical sunrise, breakfast, and shower then meet your guide to starting driving to The small town of Alnif located in the heart of an environment rich in meteorites and fossils. After we arrive at Agdez, a classic caravanserai oasis with a still-pristine palmeraie (palm grove), ancient mudbrick kasbahs, and a secret desert prison. The village of Agdz offers a variety of activities such as a visit to the waterfalls, located on the road to Ouarzazate, or a visit to the souk. Another thing to do in Agdz is motorcycling. our last stop is Ouarzazate where you will spend the night at your hotel.
DAY 4 : FROM OUARZAZATE TO MARRAKECH
We will visit the cinema studios in Ouarzazate, have lunch and drive to Marrakech with a detour to the traditional High Atlas Berber village of Telouet and visit the Kasbah el Glaoui, The kasbah is named in honor of “El Haj T’hami el Mezouari el Glaoui” who was the highly respected head of the Glaoua tribe in Morocco.
